INTERNATIONAL VOICE

The “International Voice in Vitebsk” gala concert featuring prizewinners and Grand Prix winners of the international festivals and contests, members of the World Association of Festivals (WAF), is to be held in the Concert Hall “Vitebsk” on 14 July.

 “A song creates the mood and brings people of all ages together, and we really want the musical wind of the festival Vitebsk to reach all countries and continents", said Irina Kovlena, producer of the upcoming concert.

The "International Voice in Vitebsk" is to feature the winner of the International Music Festival "Little Shells" in Novi Sad (Serbia) Darija Vracevic, the participant of the first season of "The Voice. Kids", the golden medal recipient in pop singing of the XIII Youth Delphic Games of Russia, prizewinner of the Russian contest "Open Europe-Open Planet" Alen Ershov.

The famous Belarusian project of the International Contest of Arts "Star Flowers" is to be presented by its winner Ekaterina Artemenko.

The concert program includes 15 vocal and choreographic performances by the representatives of the countries-WAF members such as Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Israel, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine. The invited guests come from Germany, Georgia, the People’s Republic of China, Latvia, and Malta.

The debut gala concert “International Voice in Vitebsk” was organized in 2017 at the initiative of the Board of Directors of “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”. The project proved to be promising and evoked a great response from the audience. This year a TV version of the concert “International Voice in Vitebsk” is to be created for the first time, as many festival directors expressed their interest in broadcasting the project, promoting WAF festivals and young artists, in their home countries.

The Association unites 16 international festivals. "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" is to host the meeting of the Board of Directors and the IV international conference "Festival movement. Traditions and innovations» with the organizers of the WAF festivals from different countries of the world. The conference program features speakers from Bulgaria, Spain, Kazakhstan and Russia. Among the presented members are the festival "Your Wave" in Spain and the "Art Center Karnolsky" in Bulgaria, the organizer of four creative forums. Both participants expressed their wish to join WAF. The applications are to be considered by the Board of Festival Directors of the Association.

Other issues on the WAF meeting agenda include consideration of the regulatory framework, the Association's Charter, the presentation of the WAF website and its approval in a new format.

For the XXVII International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" the flag of the World Association of Festivals has been updated by slightly changing the graphic pattern of the WAF abbreviation.

As it has been known from the department of the international cooperation of the Center of Culture “Vitebsk” and "Slavianski Bazaar" Board of Directors, the flags of 41 countries of the world are to be raised, together with the flag of the World Association of Festivals, over the city. For the first time the festival is to witness the state symbols of Guinea and Uruguay in its history.
